The GasFields Commission is working with other agencies on a new collaborative approach to engagement with the simple message – there is no wrong door.
The Commission is back on the road with Queensland Government, Office of the Land Access Ombudsman and Land Court of Queensland to help communities in the gas fields understand who they should go to for information and assistance.
We each have our own jurisdiction and offer unique services which is why we’ve been travelling around Queensland together to help point people in the right direction to find the information they’re looking for.
Already this year, the group has engaged with communities throughout the Surat Basin, as well as Gladstone and the Banana Shire.
Each of these communities has a unique set of questions and interests so with each area we visit, we come prepared with a suite of practical tools, information and experts on hand.
These sessions are a great way for people to learn about the Commission’s new practical tools such as GasApp and The Gas Guide, the role of the recently appointed Land Access Ombudsman and the Land Court of Queensland’s ADR panel of qualified convenors and mediators.
The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy has been travelling with us to explain recent legislative changes to the negotiation of conduct and compensation agreements and make good agreements.
